The best type of workbench is one you build yourself.
The second best type of workbench is one that is square, level, plumb, and all the other words that would not be used to describe mine.
That’s just an observation, not a complaint.
Snowblowers make mornings much easier, but bring up a plethora of moral dilemmas.
I am as close as I can be to not needing glasses but still need glasses.
Anti-glare on glasses lens is 100% worth it.
Turns out that last one is truly an example of hindsight being 20/20.
Come From Away on Broadway is my favorite show so far.
Taps is the only appropriate way of closing out a bottle of Gentleman Jack.
There are a lot more coyotes around our neighborhood than we originally thought.
And possums.
And raccoons.
And stray cats.
I give the Anthropocene Reviewed 4.5 out of 5 starts.
Poland is incredibly beautiful!

The 787 wasn’t nearly as smooth as I would have expected it to be.
Upon a second flight on it, maybe it was pilot error.
Life is good when you need to question whether the sunset in Venice is greater than Prosecco in a small back alley in Florence.
Cooking classes in Florence are better than both of them.
The pressure changes when a high speed train goes through a tunnel were something I was not expecting!
The quality of food and wine in Italy was something i was absolutely expecting, and was not disappointed with!
So much so, we shipped two cases of wine home!
Taxis are 4x cheaper than Uber in Europe.

HOLY CRAP REFRIGERATORS ARE EXPENSIVE!!
You can have have a Keurig built into your refrigerator.
I mean... how hard could it be to repair the fridge myself!?!
Three months in and it’s still running fine!
The polish do not believe in Diet Coke.
The closest thing to Diet Coke in Europe is Coke Light.
Coke light is not nearly as good as Diet Coke.
It is very embarrassing to see the contractor walking to your house and realizing you already had him out once to give an estimate.
He handled it like a champ though.
Turns out I shouldn’t have bought another Apple Watch..
Compared to the landscaper and the tree service estimates, foundation repair doesn’t seem that daunting!
You can purchase business insurance for single events or days. That sure will cut down on costs!

98% of our security camera footage is of playing squirrels.
1% is of our neighbors cutting through our yard.

The new auditorium is beautiful!

Things I learned in 2012 #81 probably won’t be possible on account that nobody installs lighters in cars anymore.
Carmen is still a crier.
Cleo learned the bad habit.
It costs $125 to ship an iPad from Italy back home.
Can lighting installation became much easier... you just need to find the right product!
And by “can,” we mean ultra slim LED pucks that don’t care about floor joists, ducts, etc.
Sure it sucks having to climb into the attic to turn them on and off, but those are growing pains with having such luxuries.
Not to toot my own horn, but I nailed my first ever carrier landing.
And by nailed, I mean we survived and stayed on the boat.
Awesome experience flying with Seacrest and Gizmo in the F/A-18 simulator.
Cosmin and Amanda are buying a house!

Swiss Air Lines is a top notch airline. Never seen so many beverage services!
Gate B31 and gate D31 are easily mistakable when you have a group of 34 high school students following you around the Zurich airport.
One distinct difference though Is that D31 requires passport control, which makes the gate we actually needed (B31) much more desirable.
A light bulb is an object we always picture right side up, yet spends the majority of its life upside down.

The theme of this year was based around European travel. Who knows what awesome adventures await next year. Happy New Year!!
